Gaining Planning Approval

If you need that extra space at home or you are looking to convert, you may need planning approval from your local council. There are many variables that determine whether you will be granted planning permission, that’s where we can help. We have over 20 years’ experience in the building industry, and are able to provide practical advice and service that you can rely on.

The Survey & Drawing

After a brief chat, we will organise a convenient time and date for you, for one of our team to visit your property and conduct a full survey. This usually takes between 1-2 hours depending on the size of the property and your requirements. We are more than happy to sit down with you and go through your ideas and maybe offer a few of our own. We are able to offer advice and best practise to maximise your chance of gaining planning approval.


Once we have completed our survey and discussed your individual requirements, we will produce the plans required for submission to the relevant planning authority and building regulations authority. We will keep you fully informed on the progress of your application and of course, we are always available to answer any questions at any stage.




When you are happy with your proposed plans, we submit them on your behalf to your local planning authority. The planning process can take up to 8 weeks to complete, but we will keep your informed every step of the way. Once planning permission is approved, we can then submit your plans with the relevant information, to a recognised Building Regulations authority for approval. Finally, once all the paperwork is complete and we have approval, you can move on to building or converting your new space.
